Workshop Offerings:
An evening workshop
Wednesdays 4-6pm:
WIP Party - Minimum participants: 4, Maximum: 16
This is an open, low pressure environment where we can co-work and ask for help. Bring a project that means a lot to you, but you’ve been struggling to make progress. Could be writing, collage, cross stitch, anything you can feasibly bring with you. If you need some inspiration, sign up to present your project to a small group and see what kind of expertise others can offer.
An mid-day workshop
Fridays 12-1.30pm for 8 weeks
Braving the Page, An Introductory Poetry Workshop - Minimum participants: 4, Maximum: 8
Have you always wanted to pen a sonnet, but find poetry forms too intimidating? Or maybe you’ve been to a few open mics and want to try your own hand at spoken word? Everyone has a poem in them, come to Braving the Page and find yours! Classes will go over poetic forms as well as free verse, will be generative, and is open to beginners and anyone who feels the desire to write and share but is nervous to do so.
An afternoon workshop
Fridays 3-4:30 for 3 weeks
Braving the Stage, Getting Ready to Perform - Minimum participants: 4, Maximum: 8
So you’ve written and polished a few poems, and you’re excited to share them with the world. Join me for three workshop classes where we will go over memorization techniques, finding your centre, how to accommodate yourself on stage, and the basics of pacing and mic work, so you can feel confident when you take the stage. Our goal will be to prepare students to sign up for the open mic at the Guelph Poetry Slam. Please come prepared with 1-2 finished poems of at least two minutes and no more than three minutes in spoken length. This will be a performance heavy class!

Introducing The Society of Too Much Women
The Society of Too Much Women exists to restore the power, intuition, and unapologetic fullness of women who have been told to shrink. We create a sanctuary where sensitivity is honoured, expression is celebrated, and every person identifying as a woman is witnessed as a whole. Our mission is to dismantle the belief that being “Too Much” is a flaw and transform it into a source of strength, connection, and liberation. Join us to celebrate Cream Tea Day to meet the facilitator as well as find out about our programs and workshops.
A one day workshop

8 Weeks to a More Authentic You
Facilitated by Shanan Cunnington of The Society of Too Much Women
This is not another self-improvement program.
This is a reclamation.
A community where you no longer have to explain your feelings, hide your intuition, or apologize for the way your heart works. Join The Society of Too Much Women and step into a space to be witnessed without judgment, comparison, or correction. You will examine the barriers holding you back, grieve the life you have, learn tools for living more authentically and celebrate your true authentic self.
